Zambia asks Glencore unit to rescind mine shaft closures

Vedanta Resources said on Wednesday that a Lusaka High Court has refused its application to halt winding up proceedings against its Zambian business Konkola Copper Mines.

Petra revenue down 6% on weak diamond market

Petra Diamonds, which has operations in South Africa and Tanzania, said its revenue for the year ended June 30 dropped 6% to $463.6 million compared to $495.3 million, a year earlier due to a weaker diamond market.

It said the number of carats sold for the year eased 2% to 3,736,847 carats against 3,793,799 carats sold the previous year.
